Singer (1/4) Quarter Inch / Straight Stitch Foot

This special foot has a single round hole for the needle and helps hold the fabric against the feed dogs more securely than a General Purpose foot with a wider opening.  It is especially helpful when sewing on lightweight fabrics that tend to be pushed down into the needle hole.  This foot also is commonly used in basting and gathering.
